elements is a collection of sound studies i conducted over the past years in pursuing the goal to find "my" sound. it started as a project to test a less hierarchical, more balanced approach to human-computer-interaction, handing over control of aesthetics to the computing collaborator. this necessarily led to me experimenting with generative synth patches. lately, i became more and more interested in sampling and manipulating (field) recordings. both sampling and computational agency are truly elemental to the music i release as ele these days. thus, the album title refers to its archival function of shaping a sound-in-becoming.

however, when finishing the project, i realized that the title elements is equivocal. the sound of fire is part of most of the tracks. fire is an element in ancient greek and chinese philosophy (and probably other schools of thought i don't know). according to greek mythology, prometheus gave fire to humans that kicked off the development of the cultural sphere. to see this album as a "promethean" moment in my small discography sparked my interest for the last couple of months or so, affording a narrowed yet more conceptual approach to sound production for upcoming future projects.
